STI TESTING & TREATMENT: YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Have you been tested?

At Citra, we believe safe sex is self-care. That’s why we encourage sexually-active patients to stay informed, communicate openly with their partner(s), and get regularly tested for sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

What can you expect from STI testing and treatment at Citra? Read on for answers to frequently asked questions from patients like you.

Why should I get tested for STIs?

For one thing, STIs are common. In fact, 1 in 5 Americans has an STI, according to the CDC. Plus, many STIs are asymptomatic, meaning you can have one and not even know it. The only way to find out is to get tested.

How often should I get tested?

Depending on your level of sexual activity, we recommend every 3 to 6 months as an excellent place to start. New relationship? Schedule a test (and talk to your partner about scheduling one too!) before you get intimate.

What if I’m in a monogamous relationship?

Like we said earlier, many people don’t know they have an STI and unknowingly spread it. Again, both partners should be screened before starting a sexual relationship.

What STIs can a test detect?

Citra provides rapid testing for women for:

  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhea
  • Trichomonas

And standard testing for all genders for:

  • Hepatitis
  • Vaginitis
  • Monkeypox
  • HIV
  • Syphilis
  • HSV-1
  • HSV-2
  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhea
  • Trichomonas

What happens during testing?

How quickly will I know my results?

We get it—you want results, and peace of mind, fast. We now offer both rapid and traditional STI testing at all Citra clinics:

  • Rapid STI testing is available for women with same-day results.
  • Traditional STI testing is available for all genders with results in a few days.

How soon can I get treatment?

As soon as we have your results we can create a treatment plan.

How much are testing and treatment?

We’re all about Truly Transparent® pricing and are in-network with all major insurance providers. Rapid STI testing is $279 out of pocket. Traditional STI testing starts at $239 out of pocket. Treatment costs vary.

How can I schedule a test?

Make your appointment here or walk right in between 8 am-8 pm, every day.

Getting tested isn’t awkward, it’s self-care. We’re here for you, judgment-free and 100% confidential. STI testing can, and should, be part of your wellness routine. After all, your healthiest you is the sexiest you.
