We have the answers to your most common questions about COVID-19 visits at Citra Urgent Care.

What should I expect when I come in for a COVID-19 visit?

Our team of medical professionals will evaluate and test you for COVID-19. If our providers deem it medically necessary, we may also test you for the more common causes of respiratory infections such as the flu or RSV.

Why am I being seen by a provider if I only need a COVID-19 test?

Our medical staff will assess you to ensure you are being treated accurately and with the highest level of care.

Does my insurance cover this visit?

Citra Urgent Care follows the guidance from the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which mandates that insurance companies must fully cover the cost of COVID-19 testing and treatment. Therefore, Citra is not collecting co-pays, co-insurance, or deductibles at the time of service for your COVID-19 visit. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY WILL DETERMINE YOUR PAYMENT RESPONSIBILITY, AND YOU MAY RECEIVE A BILL IF THEY DECIDE NOT TO PAY. We will continue to monitor the legislation as it evolves.

Can I still be seen if I don’t have insurance?

Yes! The Truly Transparent price is $279 and includes a full medical evaluation, a COVID-19 PCR test, and all other necessary in-house labs including flu, strep, and/or RSV.  Please note that if you choose to walk in without an appointment, you will not see a provider and will only be tested for COVID-19.

Do I have to wait in the lobby?

To best meet your comfort and safety needs throughout the evolving pandemic, you’re welcome to wait in our lobby or in your car. Text us when you arrive and we’ll let you know when it’s time to check in. 

How fast will I get my PCR results?

Every Citra clinic is equipped with in-house PCR lab testing equipment.  This allows us to send you your results on the same day, usually within 1 to 2 hours of your visit.

How will I receive my PCR results? 

Your PCR results will be emailed to the email address you registered with once they are available. They will also be uploaded to your patient portal. 

How do I access my patient portal?

During your visit, you will be given a pin number with instructions on how to set up your patient portal. Click here to access your patient portal.

Can I walk in and receive a COVID-19 test?

Yes! Walk into any clinic without an appointment for a same-day PCR or rapid antigen test. You must pay out-of-pocket ($279 PCR or $150 antigen) and will not see a provider. Walk-in testing ends at 6:30 pm daily.

What is the PCR COVID-19 Test?

Citra utilizes a rapid real-time RT- PCR test intended for the detection of SARS-CoV-2.  Each of our clinics is equipped with GeneXpert and Accula systems.

Both GeneXpert and Accula provide results within the same day you are tested. Your results will be uploaded into the patient portal and emailed directly to you for your convenience.

Will my PCR test work for travel?

Our PCR tests are suitable for most travel destinations, however, local COVID-19 TESTING REQUIREMENTS VARY. Due to the rapidly-changing protocols of airlines and countries across the world, please understand that it is the responsibility of the patient to determine the COVID-19 testing requirements for their travel plans.
